Roof tiles (converted to B&W). The three swirls is a symbol often seen in Japan. The symbol (Mitsudomoe) is sometimes used as a family crest, but also represents Shinto religion. It is a symbol of War God, Hachiman. I saw that at other temples, shrines and castles. Family crests (called Kamon) and other Japanese symbols are very fascinating
